Hockey India today named the following National team for the 7th Women’s Asia Cup to be held at Bangkok, Thailand from 30 October to 8th November 2009. The team was picked by the selection committee comprising Vidya Stokes, Balbir Singh, B P Govinda, Madhu Yadav and Sita Mehta, who attended the selection trials held at SAI Centre, Bhopal on 29th & 30th September 2009. TEAM INDIA: Goalkeepers: Deepika Murthy, Savita. Defenders: Binita Toppo, Subhadra Pradhan, Preety Sunita Kiro. Midfielders: Mamta Kharb, Deepika Thakur, Asunta Lakra, Mukta P Barla, Vartika Singh, Monika Bardan. Forwards: Surinder Kaur, Jasjeet Kaur, Saba Anjum, Rani Ritu, Chanchan Devi, Soundarya Yendala.
