Maharashtra cueist Meenal Thakur survived some anxious moments before beating holder Vidya Pillai to clinch the snooker title the in ladies category of the National Billiards and Snooker National Championship at Agra today. The 30-year-old Meenal took two hours and 20 minutes to defeat Pillai of Tamil Nadu 75-42 (32-68, 56-50, 70-37) in the best-of-five clash. Meanwhile Meenal’s sister Anuja Chandra of PSPB got the third position by beating aAranxta Ssanchezf of Maharashtra 71-13, 82-26 in an lop-sided encounter. Earlier, Vidya defeated Snchez 40-60, 47-79, 58-20, 65-20, 77-28 in semifinal, while in the other final-four match between the sisters, Meenal beat Anuja 69-28, 15-59, 41-50, 81-57, 66-11.
