Orissa squandered a first-half lead to settle for a 1-1 draw against Bengal in their group league match of the 1st All-India Women’s Football Championship for Pem Dorjee Memorial Cup at Gangtok (Sikkim) today. International Sasmita Mallick gave Orissa the lead in the 33rd minute. But Bengal fought back in the second half to score the equaliser in the 62nd minute. Both the sides now have four points with one win and one draw each. Orissa would next meet Sikkim Green on Oct 12 and Bengal would face Tamil Nadu on Oct 11.
