Orissa State Secretariat Badminton Association (OSSBA) is gearing up to organise the Indian Oil-TCS Cup 2nd All-Orissa Open Badminton Tournament, under the aegis of Orissa State Badminton Association (OSBA) at Saheed Nagar Indoor Hall in Bhubaneswar from December 11 to 13.
The tournament, which offers a total cash prize of Rs 40,000, would feature competition in six categories — singles and doubles for men, women and junior (under-19) boys. Junior boys singles champion would get Rs 2,500, while title winners in other categories would receive Rs 3,000 each.
The three-day tournament would also serve as the basis for selection of players for the Senior National Championship to be held at Guwahati, Assam from January 1 to 9, 2010.
OSSBA has been promoting badminton by organising the annual All-Orissa Open and the Secretariat Employees Cup alternatively. The first All-Orissa Open attracted wide attention thanks to former All-England champion Pulela Gopichand joining the event as guest.
