A 14-member Orissa squad left here today to participate in the 23rd Senior National Karate Championship to be held at Nehru Stadium in Chennai from March 26 to 29. Giving a warm send-off, officials of Orissa State Karate-do Association expected the squad to return with a rich haul of medals.
The squad:
Men: Deepak Samantara, Umakanta Senapati, Tofan Badatya, Sangram Keshari Sahoo, Dilip Kumar Jena, Santosh Moharana, Suryakanta Pradhan, Rajiv Singh, Sitanshu Mohapatra.
Women: Valina Valentina, Anusuya Behera, Sagarika Das, Sarita Mishra, Jamini Mishra.
Manager: Sandeep Mohanty; Coaches: S R Sasmal, Gouri Mohanty; Officials: Mahesh Chandra Baral, Younes Digal, Soumya Ranjan Das.
