A state-level training programme for ‘Kridashrees’ (PYKKA workers) concluded at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on June 7, 2010. Altogether 182 Kridashrees from 10 district of Central Revenue Division joined the programme, which was conducted to train the workers help implement the Union Government’s Panchayat Yuva Krida aur Khel Aviyan (PYKKA) at the grassroots level.
Kridashrees from Cuttack, Puri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur received both practical and theoritical training in 10 disciplines, which included football, athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, archery, hockey and handball.
The training programme was conducted by State Directorate of Sports with the help of 20 master trainers, three resource persons and technical consultant Ashok Kumar Mohanty. State Sports Secretary Parag Gupta provided final tips to the Kridashrees before distributing certificates at the closing ceremony.
