Orissa`s Valena Valentina missed out on a medal after losing her repechage bronze play-off against Yanisa Torrattanawathana of Thailand in the women`s 50kg Karate competition of the Asian Games at Guangzhou today.

Valentina started with a 6-0 spanking of Cholpon Shaidieva of Kyrgyzstan before getting past C Phetsiriseng of Laos 5-2, but she lost 2-4 to Chinese H Li in the semifinal. In the repechage, the 22-year-old Indian was up against the Thai player.
