Eminent hotelier Kumar Haldar of Puri became the new president of Orissa State Chess Association (OSCA) earlier today. He was elected uncontested at the general body meeting, which presided by working president Jayant Kumar Hota at Bhubaneswar.

According to OSCA secretary Smruti Ranjan Das, two more vacant posts were also filled up at the meeting. Timir Baran Patnaik and Mrityunjay Banerjee too were elected unopposed as vice-president and executive member respectively.
