Cuesports in Orissa received much needed boost with Bhubaneswar-based Union Foods Private Limited offering sponsorship for three senior players today. ‘‘We will provide sponsorship for one year to state senior billiards and snooker champion Subrat Das to enable him play more tournaments and bring laurels for the state. He will also be our brand ambassador,’’ announced Avilash Mahananda, the director of the company in a media conference at Cue Sport Academy here.
He also declared that Union Foods would bear the travel expenses of Subrat Das, state senior billiards runner-up Amit Lath and snooker runner-up Satyadeep Das for their participation in the Senior National Championship, scheduled to be held at Pune from August 27 to September 14.
