Abhishek Sharma, Sasmita Rout and Abhijit Samantaray emerged best pugilists in the Rourkela Open Boxing Tournament, which concluded at the Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium in Rourkela today. Abhisekh won the title in the 56kg senior men’s group, Sasmita emerged champion in 51kg senior women`s category and Abhijit claimed the title in the 46kg sub-junior boys group.

Altogether 71 boxers from in and around the Steel City participated in the three-day tournament, which was revived after a gap of two decades. Host Rourkela Steel Plant General Manager (Steel) DS Pastay gave away prizes at the closing function. Assistant General Manager (Sports) Dhiren Mishra was also present on the occasion.
