Balangir boys and Kendrapara girls lifted trophies in the 57th State Schools Football Championship, which concluded at Satyabrata Stadium, Cuttack today. In the finals, Balangir edged out Cuttack 5-4 in penalty shoot out, while Kendrapara got the better of Bhubaneswar 2-1.

Earlier in the boys` semifinals, Balangir beat Balasore and Cuttack pipped Sambalpur by 1-0 identical margin. In the girls` last-four round, Kendrapara thrashed Cuttack 2-0 and Bhubaneswar outplayed Balasore 3-0.

Teams from 20 educational districts participated in the three-day tournament, which was organised by Cuttack Circle School Sports Association after a gap of 10 years.
