Rakesh Roshan Pradhan emerged champion in the Freggs Cup 1st All-Odisha Open Snooker Tournament, which concluded here at Cue Club, Patia on Sunday. In the round-robin semifinal league, bespectacled Pradhan beat Subrat Das 4-1 and Siddharth Sen 4-0 to finish at the top of the table.

Subrat Das of Adarsh Group became the runner-up, while school boy Ashutosh Padhy and seasoned campaigner Siddharth Sen finished at third and fourth positions respectively in the final standings.

Champion Pradhan received the top prize of Rs 10,000, while runner-up Das took home Rs 6,000. The week-long tournament, featuring over 50 cueists from across state, carried a total prize fund of Rs 40,000. Hose Cue Club president Abhishek Mahananda gave away the trophy and prize at the closing function.
