Odisha beat the host Haryana by 1-0 goal to emerge champion in the 7th National Sub-Junior Boys Hockey Tournament held at Gurgaon in Haryana today. Sunit Topo scored the all-important goal off a penalty corner in the 60th minute. Ananda Lakra and Kunjan Tapo of the Odisha bagged the best full-back and best mid-fielder awards of the tournament respectively.
In the semifinals, Odisha blanked Bihar 5-0 (Alsen Lakra and Sumit Toppo 2 each, Prashant Tirkey 1).

Earlier in the opening match on Dec 15, Odisha trounced Chhattishgarh 10-1. Sudeep Kerketta, Ashok Kerketta, Sanjit Toppo scored two goals each, while Alsen Lakra, Sumit Toppo, Suman Sanjit Kindo and Prakash Barla contributed one goal each.
