  AOCA felicitates players, coaches, officials, organisations

All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA) today felicitated 19 players, two coaches, three officials and 19 organisations for their notable achievements/contributions for the year 2011. Cycling Arjuna Awardee Minati Mohapatra and Nabarangpur Collector Sibabrata Dash presented mementos to the players, coaches and officials at a function here. AOCA president Sekhar Chandra Sahoo, secretary Vivek Tibarewal, joint-secretary Manoj Panigrahi and former international player Ranjan Kumar Mohanty were present on the occasion.
FELICITATED PLAYERS: Sambit Panda (National u-7 open champion), Baibhab Singh (Team gold medal in Asian School Championship), B Niranjana Aiswharya Dass (Silver medal in Asian School Championship), Anwesha Mishra (National u-9 girls’ runner-up), Rudraksh Parida (3rd position in National u-9 open category),
Adyasa Mohapatra (Bronze medal in Asian School Championship), Saina Salonika (U-7 girls’ bronze medal in World Youth Championship), Sidhant Mohapatra (U-13 open bronze medal in Asian School Championship), Smaraki Mohanty (U-13 girls’ gold medal in Asian School Championship), Rakesh Kumar Jena (U-10 open bronze medal in Asian Youth Championship), Utkal Ranjan Sahoo (U-14 open gold in Asian Youth Championship), Rutumbhara Bidhar (U-10 girls’ gold medal in Asian Youth Championship), Sankalp Baliar Singh (U-10 open gold medals Asian Youth Championship), Aparajita Gocchikar (U-18 girls’ gold medal in Commonwealth Championship), Mohammad Ashraf (Best junior prize in London Classic), Debashis Das (U-18 open gold medal in Asian Youth Championship and u-18 open bronze in World Youth Championship), Swayams Mishra (3rd position in Mumbai Mayors Cup Tournament and IM elect), Anwesh Upadyaya (Champion in Buddhi International Tournament, Srilanka and IM title), Padmini Rout (Represented India in World Women Team Championship).

 

COACHES: Manoj Kumar Panigrahi (Accompanied Indian Youth chess team for exposure trip to Hastings, London), Sekhar Chandra Sahu (Accompanied Indian women’s team to Turkey and elected vice-president of AICF).
OFFICIALS: Gajendra Kumar Behera (Qualifed as FIDE arbiter), Tapas Kumar Mohanty (Qualifed as FIDE arbiter), Suresh Chandra Sahoo (Qualifed as FIDE arbiter).
