Odisha woman sprinter Saraswati Chand and hurdler Purnima Hembrum won a silver medal each in the 52nd National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship, which concluded at CMC Balyogi Stadium, Hyderabad today.

Purnima, who bagged the heptathlon gold in the Junior Asian Athletics Championship at Colombo earlier this month, won the silver at Hyderabad in 100m hurdles with timing of 14.35 seconds. Earlier, Saraswati won the silver in 400m sprint, clocking 54.89 seconds.

Among other Odisha athletes, Sukumati Laguri secured sixth position in women 1500m run, Parbati Sethi finished sixth in women discus and Dharmedhar Mahanta ended seventh in men 110m hurdles.
