Mother`s Public School upset defending champions Unit-IX Government Boys High School 56-50 in the final to win the boys school title in the 4th Akram-Snehasish Memorial Inter-School & Inter-College Basketball Tournament here at Unit-I Basketball Complex today.
Unit-IV Government High School won the title in the girls category, defeating Chandrasekharpur DAV Public School 31-29 in the final. KIIT University claimed the inter-college crown, edging out Raghunath Jew College 67-58 in the final. Nishant Mishra of KIIT University was adjudged as the player of the tournament.
Trophies were presented by State Energy Secretary Pradeep Jena, former India youth basketball coach A N Routray, Bhubaneswar MLAs Bhagirathi Badajena, Bijay Mohanty and Ashok Panda in the presence of host Khurdha District Basketball Association secretary Prasant Nayak.
