Local golfer Rajnish Das achieved the biggest success of his career by emerging champion in the 10th Nalco East Zone Tournament at Bhubaneswar Golf Club (BGC) course here today. He overcame foggy weather condition to reign supreme, registering four pars in the process.

``After we completed the first hole, the entire course was engulfed by fog. We had to wait for an hour to resume the proceedings. I adjusted to the condition better, put up a consistent performance under difficult circumstances and emerged champion. I feel pretty happy for my performance,`` said Das.

RESULSTS:
0-16 handicap: Rajnish Das, BGC (winner), Col V N Gowda, NCC, Bhubaneswar (runner-up). Best gross: Dheer Dutta (Jamshedpur). 17-23 handicap: Satyajyoti Mohanty (winner), Shailendra Upadhyay (runner-up). 24-plus handicap: Sangramjit Pujari (winner). Veterans: Dr Sanat Mohanty (winner), Ramesh Roy (runner-up). Ladies: Lakhi Swain (winner), Manasi Mohapatra (runner-up). Best outstation golfer: S L Prasad (MCL, Talcher).
