  Dalbir emerges CII Golf Cup champion

Local favourite Dalbir Singh of Royale Group emerged individual champion in the 5th CII Golf Cup, which was organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club (BGC) course today. He also bagged the prize for the longest drive. Srikant Pradhan of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited claimed the best gross title, while the runner-up prize in the main category went to P K Jena of BGC.

In the 19 to 24 handicap category, Srimoy Kar of The New Indian Express emerged winner, while Gopinath Sarangi of Suryo Udyog finished runner-up. Lakhi Swain received the trophy as the best lady golfer. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, represented by Srikant Pradhan, P K Jena, B Nayak and A K Padhy, won the corporate team title in the 18-hole stroke-play tournament.

 

Suryo Udyog, represented by Amarendra Dash, Ajay Dash, Annapurna Dash and Gopinath Sarangi finished runners-up. Altogether 12 corporate teams participated in the one-day tournament. Other corporate teams included Ace Commercial, Acrux, Enmark, Esspl, Imfa, Indian Oil and Paradip Port Trust.
CII-Odisha State Council Vice-chairman M K Gupta gave away trophies in the presence of CII-Eastern Region Director, Dr Saugat Mukherjee.
