  Friends & Friends win Bhubaneswar League title

Friends & Friends Club emerged champions in the 10th Gatikrushna Memorial Bhubaneswar Football League, hammering Kishore Club 3-0 in the final at the Unit-I High School ground here today. Nigerian striker Amino Kanu starred in the thumping victory, scoring a brace, while Ramesh Murmu netted the other goal.
The tall Kanu opened the account through a 25-yard sizzling right-footer, while Ramesh Murmu increased the tally by scoring the second goal in 80th minute. The mercuriliar striker Kanu capped the victory, capitalising on a defensive lapse in the injury time (91st).
Former India woman football captain Sradhanjali Samantaray handed over the trophy in the presence of Bhubaneswar Athletic Association president Suresh Routray and secretary Dr S R Parija.
Earlier in the semifinals Friends & Friends Club defeated Unit-VI Athletic Association 4-3 in penalty shoot out, while Kishore Club got the better of State Sports Department in similar fashion.The tournament, featuring a total of 20 teams, commenced on March 9.
