  Cuttack-A emerge inter-district u-14 cricket champs

Cuttack-A emerged champions in the OCA Inter-District Under-14 Cricket Tournament, defeating Bhubaneswar-A by five wickets in the final at Barabati Stadium here today. Put into bat, Bhubaneswar-A rode on an unbeaten 64 by Munsi Sahil Aziz to make a competitive total of 165. After reaching 138 for three, the visitors suffered a collapse of sort, losing their last seven wickets for 27 runs. Piyush Priyadarshi caused maximum damage to the Bhubaneswar innings, bagging four wickets for 22 runs.
In reply, Cuttack-A overhauled the target with two overs to spare. Puneet Banerjee and Tarini Tanmaya Mohapatra shared the batting honours, hitting 47 and 45 not out respectively.
Earlier in the semifinals, Bhubaneswar-A thrashed Jharsuguda by five wickets, while Cuttack-A edged out Balasore on the basis of super-league bonus points after the match between the two sides ended in a tie. In the super league, Cuttack-A had gained two bonus points from two matches against one bonus point from two matches by Balasore.
