Bureaucrats XI achieved a hat-trick by winning the title for the third successive time in the Tata Steel Friendship Football Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here today. Riding on a goal each by Amitav Thakur, SD Durga and Anup Krishna, Bureaucrats XI trounced host Tata Steel XI 3-0 in the lop-sided final.
Earlier in the semifinals, Bureaucrats XI overcame Legislators XI 4-2 in penalty shoot out, while Tata Steel XI got the better of Media XI 2-0. The one-day tournament, featuring four teams, was inaugurated by Odisha Chief Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra in the presence of Industries Minister Niranjan Pujari.
