High-flying Odisha crushed Kerala by 104 runs in a Plate-A match to cap their campaign with an all-win record in the Senior Women Inter-State Cricket One-day Tournament at Vijayawada today. This was the fifth successive win for Odisha and they finished at the top of the group table. Led by Madhusmita Behera, Odisha had already qualified for the knock-out stage before their last match against Kerala.
Medium-pacer Sujata Mallik starred in the emphatic win over Kerala, bagging all the seven wickets, which were credited to a bowler’s account. In reply to Odisha’s total of respectable total of 154 for nine, Kerala were bundled out for 50 with the winners getting the other three wickets through run out.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan, Goa, Railways and Tripura registered wins in four other matches of the day at different venues in Odisha. Railways rode on a century by Shweta Jadhav to beat Tamil Nadu by seven wickets, while a half-century by captain A Das helped Tripura get the better of Delhi by nine runs. Railways, Rajasthan and Gujarat qualified for the knock-out stage to be held at Mumbai from December 19 to 24.
