Odisha Secretariat Recreation Club (OSRC) emerged champions in the All-Odisha Inter-Club Carrom Tournament, defeating Maa Durga Carrom Academy (Jatni) 3-0 in the final here at Twin City Club today.
In the semifinals, Maa Durga Carrom Academy beat Income Tax Recreation Club and OSRC defeated RBI Recreation Club by 2-1 identical margin.
Champion OSRC team, comprising Sanjay Das, S R Samantaray, J K Routray and A Ray, received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while the runners-up were given Rs 5,000. Local MLA Bijay Kumar Mohanty, city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena handed over the prizes at the closing function.
State player V Akash, who won the title in the recent All-India Inter-Zonal Carrom Championship, was felicitated on the occasion with a cash award of Rs 10,000.
Altogether eight clubs participated in the two-day tournament, which was organised by Bhubaneswar District Carrom Association. Stewart Club (Cuttack), Bharatpur Club (Talcher) and Twin City Club were other three teams in the fray.
