10 Jun 2014 CUTTACK

A 10-day-long advance table tennis camp, conducted by Odisha State Table Tennis Association, concluded here at Sachin Tendulkar Indoor Hall in Barabati Stadium today. With North Korea youth national team`s former coach Kim Song Han providing tips on modern skills and techniques of the game, the camp proved to be immensely beneficial for 40 players who joined the camp from different places of the state.

Han, who worked as the chief coach of North Korea`s youth national team from 2009 to 2012, was hired by Table Tennis Federation of India to help its state units conduct such camps during summer vacation. High-performance coach Han was assisted by junior India and Odisha state coach Raj Subramanyam.

``Training under high-performance coach Han has immensely our paddlers improve their standard. They learnt many new skills and techniques. That should help them put up much better performance in different national championships,`` said OSTTA secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida.
