  Odisha hosts Junior National Soft Tennis Championship

Odisha Soft Tennis Association (OSTA) hosted the 10th Junior National Soft Tennis Championship at KIIT University campus here from June 25 to 29. Over 300 players from 20 states and Union Territories joined the event, which was inaugurated by State Sports Minister Sudam Marandi.

Tamil Nadu asserted their supremacy, winning four out of seven titles. Madhya Pradesh secured two titles, while the remaining one went to Chandigarh. Despite being the host, Odisha failed to win a single medal.

Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Pattasani, Bhubaneswar North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India secretary J K Khodadhra, OSTA president Bikash Chandra Patnaik and secretary Mohammad Azam handed over the trophies at the closing function.

Sachit Malhotra (Chandigarh) bt Azad Khan (Manipur) 4-3.
Girls singles: Sara Yadav (MP) beat S Amitha (Tamil Nadu) 4-2.
Boys doubles: Surenthan-Siddharth (Tamil Nadu) bt Hemanth-Govind (AP) 4-2.
Girls doubles: CS Praneetha-S Amitha (Tamil Nadu) bt Anuska Gupta-Shreya Kumar (UP) 4-1.
Mixed doubles: Honisiya-Surenthan (Tamil Nadu) bt Sambhavi-Hemanth (AP) 4-3.
