  Jeet, Subrat regain State senior cuesports titles

Subrat Das and Jeet Kishore Das regained the senior billiards and snooker titles respectively in the Blue Tech 21st Odisha State Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, which concluded here at Cuttack Club today.
Subrat Das of Bhubaneswar regained the state senior billiards title after gap of one year when he thrashed Rakesh Roshan Pradhan of Bhubaneswar in the final by 3-0 frames. This was the sixth senior billiards title for Subrat.
Local favourite Jeet regained the senior snooker crown after a gap of two years, outplaying former champion Subrat Das by 6-4 frames in the summit clash. This was the third state senior snooker crown for Jeet, who had won his previous two in 2009 and 2011.
 

Cuttack Club president Dr Manoranjan Mohapatra, secretary Suvendu Mohan Patnaik and Mishal Swain, the managing director of title sponsor Blue Tech, handed over the trophies at the presentation ceremony. Champions and runners-up of state senior billiards, junior billiards and snooker and sub-junior billiards and snooker also received their trophies on the occasion.
Jeet received a cash prize of Rs 9,000 and Subrat settled with Rs 4,000. Cuttack Club, one of the oldest heritage clubs in Eastern India, hosted the championship as part of its 150th anniversary celebration.
