Altogether 88 players from 15 states and seven institutions joined the 10-round tournament, which was inaugurated by Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Aruna Kumar Sahoo. Odisha Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra handed over the trophies and cash prizes at the closing function.
All Odisha Chess Association vice-presidents Ranjan Mohanty, secretary Vivek Kumar Tibarewal, joint-secretary Manoj Kumar Panigrahi, host Khordha District Chess Association secretary Subhasis Patnaik and chief arbiter Suresh Chandra Sahoo were present on the occasion.
