  Ad hoc committee organises State Taekwondo Meet

With Odisha Taekwondo Association in a limbo due to infighting, a five-member ad hoc committee, constituted earlier this month by Taekwondo Federation of India, organised the 30th State Taekwondo Championship at Utkal Karate School here from June 5 to 7.

Over 400 competitors from 17 districts are vied for honours in sub-junior, junior, cadet and senior categories (both men and women) in the three-day championship. Bhubaneswar North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra handed over the prizes at the closing function.
 

State Sports Director Anant Kishore Jena, Taekwondo Federation of India observer Aryan Jaiswal and State Ad hoc Committee convenor Byomakesh Prasad were present on the occasion.

According to ad hoc committee convenor Byomakesh Prasad, winners of the state championship will join a coaching camp, where the state squad will be finalised for for the Cadet National Taekwondo Championship, scheduled to be held at Rohtak in Haryana from June 26 to 28.
