Odisha crushed Madhya Pradesh 7-0 and Pondicherry 14-0 in their two Group B league matches to book berth in the quarterfinals. But in the quarterfinal league they lost to Mizoram 0-3 and Bihar 1-3 to go out of the race for the semifinals. Led by Eva Panna, Odisha salvaged some pride by hammering Chandigarh 8-0 in their last quarterfinal league game.
