  Odisha players bag 5 titles in CS Tennis Tournament

Odisha players bagged all four singles and one doubles titles to assert complete supremacy in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tounament, which concluded at Bengal Tennis Association, Salt Lake, Kolkata today.

Rutuparna Choudhury captured the under-18 girls singles title, trouncing Shruti Gupta (Bengal) in the final 6-1, 6-2. Avilash Mishra beat Sheikh Mohammad Iftikar (West Bengal) 6-3, 6-2 in the summit clash to pocked the under-18 boys single title.

Amrutjay Mohanty was most successful among the Odisha players, achieving a title double in under-14 boys category. He won the singles crown, hammering Amaan Wasim (West Bengal) 6-3, 6-0. Earlier Amrutjay and his partner Abhishek Mohapatra emerged doubles champions, defeating West Bengal pair of Aman Washim and Anurag Kedia in the final by 6-0, 6-3 sets.

 

Ameek Kiran Batth took the under-14 girls singles crown, outplaying Ayushi Singh (Jharkhand) 6-2, 6-1. All the title winners are trainees of Bhubaneswar-based Farhan Ali Tennis Academy.
