Odisha women captured the title in the Senior National Rugby Seven Championship, defeating Maharashtra 19-5 in the final at Pataliputra Stadiium in Patna today. Mirarani Hembram bagged the prize as the best woman player of the tournament.
But Odisha men finished sixth after losing to Delhi 0-12. The title in the men’s category went to Services, who beat Haryana in the summit clash 7-12. West Bengal men finished third with a 12-7 win over Maharashtra. As many as 18 men and 12 women teams are participating in the three-day championship.
