Odisha boys Abhishek Mohapatra and Pratyush Mohanty captured doubles titles in under-14 and under 16 categories of the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Hyderabad in Telangana today.
In the under14 final, Abhishek and his West Bengal partner Ashish Sinha beat Telangana pair of Rohan Kumar and M Prathinav 7-0. This was the fifth doubles and sixth overall AITA titles for Bhubaneswar lad Abhishek, who is a student of Sai International School.
He also created a major upset in under-16 boys singles, ousting top seed Krishna Sai Vemuri of Telangana in the first round.
