Priyadarshini Bisoi bagged three medals for Odisha in women 72kg weight class of the Senior National Powerlifting and Benchpress Championship, held at Milane Hall, Jamshedpur from Sept 7 to 11, 2016. Medals included one gold, one silver and one bronze.

Priyadarshini, who is serving at Rourkela at after getting employment in State Police under sports quota,  captured the gold in benchpress (equipped) championship with a lift of 110kg. She claimed the silver and bronze in inter-state and National open categories respectively with efforts of 210kg in squat, 110kg in benchpress and 165kg in deadlift for total lift of 485kg.

A six-member squad represented Odisha in the Senior National Championship. The powerlifters were accompanied by coach Satyabrata Behere and manager Gangadhar Bisoi. Odisha squad included Laxmimani Singh, Debi Singh, Priyadarshini Bisoi (all women); Sambhunath Mohanty and Abinash Kumar Nayak (both men).
