  Lakra returns to Senior India men hockey team

Hockey India today announced an 18-member senior men national team for the Six-Nation Invitational Tournament to be held in Valencia, Spain from June 27 to July 3. Sardar Singh will take over the mantle of Captain from PR Sreejesh for this tournament, which will also feature, Argentina, Germany, New Zealand, Ireland and hosts Spain.

Odisha defender Birender Lakra returned to the Indian team after an injury-related lay off. In the opening match on 27th June, India take on Germany.

SENIOR INDIA TEAM: Goalkeepers: PR Sreejesh (Vice-captain), Vikas Dahiya. Defenders: Rupinderpal Singh, VR Raghunath, Kothajit Singh, Surender Kumar, Harmanpreet Singh, Birendra Lakra. Mid-fielders: Danish Mujtaba, Chinglensana Singh, Manpreet Singh, Sardar Singh (Captain), SK Uthappa, Devindar Sunil Walmiki, Harjeet Singh. Forwards: Talwinder Singh, SV Sunil, Akashdeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Nikkin Thimmaiah. Coaches & Support staff: Roelant Oltmans (Chief coach), Van Roger Gent (Coach), Tushar Khandekar (Coach), Matt Eyles (Scientific Advisor), Shrikant Iyengar (Physiotherapist), Arup Naskar (Masseur), Aadithya Chakravarty (Video Analyst).
