Amrutanshu Priyadarshan of DAV Public School, Unit-VIII emerged champion, scoring 6.5 points out of a possible seven in the 9th Schools Open Chess Tournament, which was organised by DAV Public School, Kalinga Nagar, Bhubaneswar today. Altogether 73 players from 16 schools participated in this one-day and seven-round tournament.

Diptimayee SahooI of Saraswati Sishu Vidyamandir finished runner-up with six points. Host school supervisor Deepanjali Sahoo and staff secretary Jagdish Chandra Dasadhikari gave away the prizes at the closing ceremony. Chief arbiter Debasis Panigrahi was present on the occasion.
