A C Sutar of Ace Commercials, Paradip emerged champion on the opening day of the 12th Corporate Golf Tournament, which is being organised by Bhubaneswar Golf Club (BGC) here at the picturesque BGC Course, Infocity, Chandrasekharpur from today.
A total of 58 golfers participated in corporate, mens ladies sections of the 18-hole competition, which was conducted in the Stable-ford format. The two-day tournament will conclude tomorrow. For the Team competition, points earned on the opening day will get carried forward to the concluding day, which will be played over 18-holes in the Power-Play format.

Large corporate houses numbering 20 have sent their teams for this competition. Teams include Tata Steel (Odisha and Jamshedpur), Mahanadi Coalfields (Sambalpur), Paradip Port Trust, Indian Oil, Dhamra Port Company (Adani Ports), JSPL, Z Estates, Tata Tinplate Company, Jamshedpur, East Coast Railways, Golden Anchor, Esprit TOYOTA, ACRUX, Royal Hotels etc.
FRONTLINE Group and IOCL are the Main Sponsors, supported by TATA Steel and MCL as the Silver Sponsors. Z Estates, comprising father-son duo of Tapan Mohanty and Satyajyoti Mohanty, had won the team title in the previous edition of the tournament.
RESULTS: Corporate champion: A C Sutar (Ace Commercials, Paradip). Best Gross: Dalbir Singh (Royale Hotels, Bhubaneswar); Runner-up (0-18): S P Dwivedy (East Coast Railways). Winner (19-24): Suryakant Dash (Golden Anchor, Paradip); Runner-up (19-24): Nachiketa Mohapatra (Versatile Constructions, Bhubaneswar). Best outstation golfer: Rajesh Kumar (TATA Steel, Jamshedpur). Best lady golfer: Lakhi Swain (Acrux Realcon, Bhubaneswar).
