  CS Tennis Tourney: Treble for Rutuparna, Double for Kabir

Host Odisha asserted supremacy, bagging five out of six titles in the AITA-OTA U-16 & U-18 Championship Series Tennis Tournament, which concluded here at Kalinga Stadium today. Local teenagers Rutuparna Choudhury and Kabir Hans stood out among Odisha achievers with triple and double crowns respectively.

Rutuparna won the three titles in under-16 girls singles and under-18 girls singles and doubles events. Kabir captured the two titles in under-16 and under-18 boys singles categories. Among other successful Odisha players, Ameek Kiran Batth partnered Rutuparna in their under-18 girls doubles title triumph and finished singles runner-up in under-16 girls event after losing to citymate Rutuparna. Aditya Satpathy finished runner-up in U-18 boys singles.
 

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu combination of Harshit Selvaraj and Sayed Sohail Haque emerged under-18 boys doubles champions, defeating Odisha-Assam pair of Pratyush Mohanty and Rishav Brahma in the summit clash. The tournament was organised by Odisha Tennis Association with a total 65 players from 11 states are vying for honours. Title winner in each event gathered 25 AITA ranking points, the losing finalists settled with 20 points apiece.
