Harshit Ranjan Sahu and Suhana Jena finished runner-up in open and girls’ sections respectively. Top two finishers in both the categories qualified to represent Odisha in the National U-11 Chess Championship, scheduled to be held at Pune from November 22 to 30, 2017.
Utkal Karate School founder Hari Prasad Pattanaik gave away the prizes in the presence of Odhsia Grand Master Debashis Das, SR Chess Centre Director SR Pattnaik and president Subasis Pattanaik. Senior sports journalist Sanjib Biswal, chess International Master Mohhapatra and chess coach Rajendra Prasad Sahoo were felicitated on the occasion.
