There was more joy for India on the track with Anu Raghavan and Jabir MP winning silver and bronze medals in the women’s and men’s 400m hurdles respectively. Sheena NV, who until a few years ago competed in the 400m and hurdles herself, benefitted from switching to the triple jump as she won bronze in the women’s event. Olympic champion Dilshod Nazarov continued his domination in the men’s hammer throw by winning his fifth Asian Championships gold, to add to his three consecutive Asian Games titles. The Tajikistani threw a distance of 76.69 in his last attempt, and while it wasn’t anywhere near his personal best, it was enough to take him to first place.
