  Odhis bodybuilders assert supremacy in Eastern Meet

Host Odisha bagged five out of eight titles to assert supremacy in the 8th Eastern India Men’s Body Building and Women Fitness Championship, which held at Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar on March 11, 2018. Howevers, Litem Jam Rishikant Singh of Manipur emerged champion of champions and bagged the title as Mr Eastern India-2018.

Odisha’s Riya Das and Gayatri Murmu secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the Women’s Fitness Competition, which held simultaneously for the first time in the state. The first position was secured by Claudia Jesica Baman of Meghalaya.
 

The day-long championship was inaugurated by Odisha Tourism & Culture Minsiter Ashok Chandra Panda and Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena. A total of 110 competitors from six states joined the championship and competition was held in eight weight categories (55kg to 90kg+). Odisha Body Building Association (OBBA) president Chitta Ranjan Swain and genera secretary Prasanna Mahasuar were present on the occasion.

MEN BODYBUILDING: 55kg: 1. Sekh Bhola (Odi), 2. Sumant Behera (Odi), 3. Sanjit Behera (Odi). 60kg: 1. Sanjay Sahoo (Odi), 2. Kashar Ali (Asm), 3. Santosh Bisoi (Odi). 65kg: 1. Subhankar Das (Asm), 2. Abhishek Mandal (WB), 3. Brajabandhu Suara (Odi). 70kg: 1. Balal Khan (Odi), 2. Subhadeep Baidya (Asm), 3. Balakrushna Bag (Odi). 75kg: 1. Rishikanta Chandra (Man), 2. Robin Kumar Sahoo (Odi), 3. Tanmay (WB). 80kg: 1. Rashmi Ranjan Sahoo (Odi), 2. Bikash Kumar Sahoo (Odi), 3. Nepram Rakesh Singh (Man). 85kg: 1. Litem Jam Rishikant Singh (Man), 2. Suprativa Khuntia (Odi), 3. Santosh Ram (Megh). 90kg: 1. Chhutku Dutta (Odi), 2. Satyajit Pratihari (Odi), 3. Sujit Jena (Odi).
MEN FITNESS: 1. Abhijit Das (Odi), 2. Pupun Swain (Odi), 3. Shubham Mishra (Odi).
WOMEN FITNES: 1. Claudia Jesica Baman (Megh), 2. Riya Das (Odi), 3. Gayatri Murmu (Odi).
