  Rising Students Club lift N M Bhuyan Trophy

Star-studded Rising Students Club emerged champions in the Kusha Patnaik Memorial Cricket Tournament for N M Bhuyan Trophy, defeating Solar Cricket Club by seven wickets in the all-Cuttack final here at BJB College ground today. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 40,000 and the runners-up side Rs 25,000.

State Addition Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophy. Falcon Marines MD Prabha Ranjan Patnaik, state cricket stars Shiv Sundar Das, Debasis Mohanty and Rashmi Ranjan Parida; host Mukteswar Cricket Club (MCC) vice-presidents Naba ranjan pattnaik and Gurjit Singh chouhan, secretary Prasant Mohapatra, assistant-secretary Ajit biswal and treasurer Goura Prasad were present on the occasion.

 

INDIVIDUAL PRIZES: Man of the final: Alok Chandra Sahoo (Rs 5,000); Man of the tournament: Rajesh Dhuper (Rs 10,000); Best batsman: Biswajit Bhuyan (Rs 5,000); Best bowler: Pradipta Das (Rs 5,000); Woman Cricketer of the Year: Rasanara Parwin (Rs 10,000).

Feb 25: Mukteswar Cricket Club
180/10 in 30.2 overs (Anurag Sarangi 68, Priyabrayta Priyaranjan 51, Natraj Behera 23; Dibyajyoti Rath 3/38, Pradipta Dash 2/19) lost to Solar Cricket Club 181/5 in 21.5 overs (Tanmay Mohatny 107; Anurag Sarangi 2/3, Debabrata Pradhan 2/25) by 5 wkts. MoM: Tanmay Mohanty.

Feb 26: Rameswar Sporting 212/10 in 35 overs (Biswajit Bhuyan 70, Paresh Patel 40, Priyabrata Pradhan 31, Kunal Mallick 23; Hitesh Nayak 3/44, Rajnish Yadav 2/26, Amitav Rout 2/34) beat Paramount Sporting 181/10 in 31.2 overs (Rishikesh Das 42, Abhaya Mallick 29, Sourav Gouda 24, Debasish Samantaray 22; Subrat Behera 3/33, Lalu Mohanty 2/25, Biswajeet Mallick 2/28, Rakesh Sharma 2/34) by 31 runs. Feb 27: Pragati Sporting 164/10 in 38.4 overs (Debi Prasad Sahoo 53, Tukuna Sahu 32; Avilash Semwal 3/15, Sidharth Sagar 3/34, Pritamjeet Das 2/28) lost to Sahid Sporting 165/7 in 30.4 overs (Avilash Semwal 65, P Jayachandra 64; Pradeep Pradhan 3/35) by 3 wkts. MoM: Avilash Semwal.

March 1: Solar Cricket Club 176/10 in 39.2 overs (Dibyajyoti 41, Dhiraj Kar 33, Manish Rout 32, Pradipta Dash 30; Avilash Semwal 3/24, Md Ejaj 2/23) beat Saheed Sporting 139/10 in 30.5 overs (Rakesh Gochhayat 31, Md Ejaj 24, Rashmi Ranjan Parida 21; Pradipta Dash 4/25, Dibyajyoti 2/12, Ananda Sahoo 2/32) by 37 runs.
