  Shooter Shriyanka wins 2 international medals

Odia shooting ace Shriyanka Sadangi added two more laurels to her name by winning the team gold and the individual silver in women’s 10m air rifle event of the International Shooting Competitions of Hannover (ISCH), held in Germany today.

Delhi-based Sambalpur girl Shriyanka shot an impressive qualification score of 628.4 and had a tie with her German opponent for the top spot in the finals. However, in the shoot off that followed, she settled with the individual silver medal, after losing by a narrow margin.

In the team event, Shriyanka won the gold medal along with her teammates Lajja Goswami and Vinita Bhardwaj. With the two ISCH medals, the total number of her international medals went up to 20. The 20 medals include five gold, 12 silver and three bronze.

 

Daughter of Army officer Sitanshu Charan Sadangi and Sudha Sadangi, Shriyanka trains at Khel Ratna Awardee Gagan Narang’s shooting academy `Gun for Glory’ at Pune. She was conferred with the 21st Ekalabya Award in 2013.

Before the International Shooting Competitions of Hannover, Shriyanka participated in the highly competitive ISSF World Cup, held at Changwon in South Korea from April 20 to 30, 2018.

She would also compete in the ISSF World Cup, scheduled to be held at Munich in Germany from May 22 to 29, 2018.
