The 20-member Indian team, including five from Odisha played the five-match series as an exposure tour ahead of the much-important Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup London 2018 in July. Odisha players were: Sunita Lakra, Deep Grace Ekka, Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz and Anupa Barla.
The team was led by ace striker Rani Rampal while goalkeeper Savita shouldered the responsibility of the vice-captain. ``Also, this tournament provided us a platform to fine tune our game before the World Cup and the Asian Games in Jakarta,’’ said Chief Coach Sjoerd Marijne.

June 15 (Match No 3): India (Gurjit Kaur 28th, Lalremsiami 32nd, Rani Rampal 59th) beat Spain (Maria Lopez 3rd, Lola Riera 58th) 3-2. June 13 (Match No 2): India (Anupa Barla 54th) drew with Spain (Berta Bonastre 14th) 1-1.
