As many as 81 boys and 50 girls participated in the three-day state championship. Puri Municipality Chairman Jayant Kumar Sarangi inaugurated and tournament and handed over the trophies in the closing ceremony. AOCA secretary Krushna Kumar Sharma, DCAP vice-president Suresh Chandra Sahoo and secretary Pradyumna Mishra were present on the occasion.
The champion and runner-up in both categories qualified to represent Odisha in the National U-11 Chess Championship, scheduled to be held at Karaikudi, Tamilnadu from July 5 to August 28, 2018.
