Myanmar will meet Nepal in the final of the Hero Gold Cup Four-Nation Women Football Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here on February 15. After completion of six league matches, Myanmar emerged table toppers with three wins and full nine points, while Nepal finished second with six points.

In the last two league matches today, Nepal blanked Islamic Republic of Iran 3-0, while Myanmar outplayed hosts India 2-0. India finished third with three points, while Iran ended at the bottom of the table with zero point.

Win Thengi Tun capped the win off a penalty kick in the injury time (90+4’). This was the second successive defeat for India after their 1-0 win over Iran earlier on the opening day.

Earlier in the penultimate league match of the day, mercurial striker Sabitra Bhandari scored a brace (59’, 89’) and Anita Basnet (40’) contributed one goal for the spirited Nepal team.
