Odisha U-21 men hockey team also settled for bronze, defeating Chandigarh 3-1 in penalty shoot out after play in normal time ended 5-5 draw on January 21. For Odisha, Samir Ekka scored twice, while Abhisek Lakra, Rahul Ekka and Amandeep Lakra contributed one goal each in the regulation time.
Odisha U-17 boys missed out on bronze medal after losing to Punjab 2-3 in shoot out, which was applied after play in regulation time ended in 2-2 draw. Paulus Lakra (19th) and Jasman Munda (25th) scored the two goals for Odisha in the regulation time. Chandigarh won the gold, shooting out Uttar Pradesh 2-0 in the final, the regulation time of which ended in 2-2 draw.
The gold medal in U-21 men category went to Uttar Pradesh, who beat Haryana in the final 3-1 via penalty shoot out. In U-21 women category, Haryana won the gold, beating Jharkhand 5-3 in the final, while the bronze went to Maharashtra.
