  Prayash knock powers Pumas into semifinals

A 35-ball 54 by Prayash Singh helped Odisha Pumas beat Odisha Tigers by two runs in the 28th match MGM Odisha T20 Cricket League at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. This was the sixth win Pumas and they ensured themselves of a place in the semifinals, completing their league engagements with 24 points from 10 matches.

Prayash hit three boundaries and four sixes in his defiant knock to enable Pumas muster a challenging total of 104 for eight. In reply, Tigers could make 102 for seven. Prayash Singh was adjudged the man of the match.

 

Earlier in the day, table toppers Odisha Panthers edged out Odisha Jaguars by four runs to register their eighth win. Allrounder Alok Chandra Sahoo played crucial role in the Panters win, hitting an unbeaten 30 and picking up two wickets for 19 runs. He pocketed the prize as the man of the match. Panthers now have 32 points in their kitty from nine games.
