Former India-A player and Odisha captain Pravanjan Mullick has been appointed Chairman of a five-member Senior Men Selection Committee of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA). This was announced by OCA secretary Sanjay Behera today.

Besides Mullick, eminent former cricketers Somnath Sahoo, Rabi Narayan Panda, Bishnudev Mohanty and Sourajit Mohapatra have been appointed members of the committee. According to OCA CEO Subrat Behera, the term of committee members will be announced later.

Being the most experienced cricketer, Mullick was made the Chairman. He played 88 First-Class, 56 List-A and 11 T20 matches in his 14-year-long impressive career. Right-hand batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler, Mullick also represented India A, Board President XI, Wills XI and East Zone.

Also a right-hand batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler, Somnath Sahoo represented Odisha and East Zone in 33 First-Class and 3 List-A matches from 1977 to 1986. Right-hand opening batsman Rabi Narayan Panda played 30 First-Class and one List-A games between 1976 and 1985.

The playing career of stumper-batsman Bishnudev Mohanty lasted for 1984 to 1996, during which he played 29 First-Class and 6 List-A games. Right-arm fast-medium bowler and left-hand batsman Sourajit Mohapatra featured in 28 First-Class and one List-A matches between 1986 and 1993.
