Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) announced the appointment of coaching staff for the State Senior Men Cricket Team for the ensuing season today. In a press release, OCA secretary Sanjay Behera named former Odisha Ranji team captain and coach Rashmi Ranjan Parida as the Head Coach.
He also named former Odisha pace bowler Deepak Mangaraj and wicket-keeper Gautam Gopal as Bowling Coach and Fielding Coach respectively. Parida, in fact, retained the post, which he first assumed in the season 2018-19. Earlier, he functioned as the batting coach of the State senior team.
As a player, Parida represented five states _ Orissa, Assam, Rajasthan, Vidarbha and Himachal Preadesh _ in Ranji Trophy. He was part of the Rajansthan team that won back-to-back Ranji Trophy titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12. During his two-decade-long First-Class career, Parida scored 8317 runs in 139 matches. He also accumulated 2,063 runs in 66 List-A games.
