Former Odisha senior men team captain Amiya Ray was named as the chairman of a five-member Junior Men Selection Committee of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) today. This was communicated in a press release by OCA secretary Sanjay Behera.
Eminent cricketers Subit Biswal, Sahid Khan, BBCC Mohapatra and Pannalal Bose were chosen as the members of the committee. However, the appointment of chairman and members of the committee will be subject to commencement of BCCI Junior Tournaments.
A right-hand batsman and right-arm off-break bowler, Ray scored 1749 runs including 4 centuries and bagged 18 wickets in the 34 First-Class matches he played for the state. He also played 9 List-A matches with a total contribution of 152 runs. Earlier, Ray functioned as member of State Senior Selection Committee.
